What motivates employees

These are notes on what I have found motivates people.

Most probably someone has documented this in some research.  Will find that some day.

1. Creating something bigger than themselves. working for something that has a value bigger than themselves

2. Money.  Earning more or helping the organization get more of it.

3. Safe haven job. Just need to keep stay income coming

4. Do a good job. Satisfaction of having done a task that meets someone's level of expectation

There are more.. will puyt them down.

What makes the fundamental difference between the haves and the have-nots is the strength of four particular beliefs: First, the specific belief that there are plenty of people out there who are willing to exchange money for something of value. Second, the specific belief that you can offer something of value . Third, the specific belief that you can communicate that value to the people willing to pay for it. How to ask for Budget

I would try and disguise the dollar amount in cheesy ways like saying "this will cost 50-K" instead of saying "This will cost fifty thousand dollars." But the main mistake I was making was not first ASKING the client what their expectations were. I'd just present to them, and pray to Jesus/Allah/Buddha that I got something out of it.
